No One killed Jessica - Movie Review.

No – One killed Jessica, second film directed by filmmaker Raj Kumar Gupta is based on the real life murder trial of Jessica Lall, a model in New Delhi. The film in the beginning, promises to be a hybrid of fact and fiction. The backdrop of the film revolves around the city “New Delhi”.
The movie has a strong story to tell and it has a huge responsibility to do justice with the actual happenings. When I went through the reviews of many critics, I noticed that they were beginning to judge the over-dramatization of the script. When the real Sabrina Lall, is quite content with the outcome of the movie, then who are we to decide the over-dramatization of the film.
Talking about the movie, well the screenplay is written keeping in mind the events that occurred from 1999 to 2009. The screenplay-writer had a huge role to play in this movie and Gupta has succeeded in many parts. There are scenes that evoke your feelings, with heart-wrenching performances by two lead actors of Indian Cinema – Rani Mukherjee and Vidya Balan preferably because of good character sketch and honest attempt at portraying the case. In some parts, the film become a little to exaggerated or clichéd, especially in the second half of the movie. There are beautifully written and portrayed scenes, my favourite being when Sabrina gets a call at night, where the caller says – “Jessica has been shot”
The movie’s another strong point is its music. It acts as a pillar against scenes where the screenplay fails. Amit trivdedi does his best in the soundtrack ‘Delhi’ which describes the cruelty of the city. Vidya Balan honestly plays the part of Sabrina. The look of frustration, anger and sadness is perfect in her acting skills. She quite easily steals the show from Rani Mukerjee preferably because her character demands more screen presence. Rani Mukherjee is portrayed as a nonchalant and a rebellious journalist with foul-mouthed tongue. She adds power to the screen by her acting presence. The writer fails to depict other prominent characters that hold significant importance in the issue like Jessica’s parents, Manu Sharma. However the actor who plays Shayan Munsi’s part is brilliant. Bina Ramani’s role becomes more of a caricature in the movie.
The direction isn’t quite impressive. Gupta could have done a lot better job with his camera techniques. However from the point of view of a common audience I would suggest it’s a must watch movie, especially for its content and gripping thriller. Go for it!
P.S. if people complain about the movie being a masala movie, I have one thing to say “had it been an art movie, who would have watched it” – so don’t complain about its commercialization because when it involves huge bucks, a filmmaker has reform his techniques.

The Beauty Of Keeping Quiet.

Keeping Quiet is just not a poem by Pablo Neruda; it teaches you the aspect of life. I remember being absent on the day it was being taught by our English teacher Moushumi Ma’am. The basic idea of the poem is to introspect by keeping yourself mum for a moment.
Yesterday night I remember feeling low, for some silly reason (which I can proudly claim today, but not yesterday :D). Anyway, in that situation I chose to keep quiet.
Try it! Just distract yourself from the world and from all those luxuries that you are a part of. Music,Movies,Television, people, and most importantly your tongue.
When I chose to keep mute, I realized how we always jabber and jabber, anything, just for the sake of talking. But nothing could match the peace of not talking, even for a minute. After you have kept yourself shut in a room, which is dark, your mouth oblivious of what talking is like. The voices from inside begins to speak. Like some magic has been cast on you, or the gods speaking, they show you your real fault, where you went wrong and how you should not repeat the same mistake in future.
All great people have said “follow the voice of conscience” and in moments of stillness and darkness, the voices from inside begins to guide you to lead life. After doing this experiment, for 1 or 2 minutes come out and face the real world, the world of light, the world of jabbering, and the world of people.
You notice how foolishly engrossed we are in this world, how we just never try to attain peace, which is the basic necessity of life more than anything.
After doing this experiment, I realized the law of life lies in literature, in poetry that uses words and situation to make you rise, like the rising sun, not to fall like the falling star. 

Here is a poem - Keeping Quiet By Pablo Neruda.

And now we will count to twelve
and we will all keep still.

For once on the face of the earth
let's not speak in any language,
let's stop for one second,
and not move our arms so much.

It would be an exotic moment
without rush, without engines,
we would all be together
in a sudden strangeness.

Fisherman in the cold sea
would not harm whales
and the man gathering salt
would not look at his hurt hands.

Those who prepare green wars,
wars with gas, wars with fire,
victory with no survivors,
would put on clean clothes
and walk about with their brothers
in the shade, doing nothing.

What I want should not be confused
with total inactivity.
Life is what it is about,
I want no truck with death.

If we were not so single-minded
about keeping our lives moving,
and for once could do nothing,
perhaps a huge silence
might interrupt this sadness
of never understanding ourselves
and of threatening ourselves with death.

Perhaps the earth can teach us
as when everything seems dead
and later proves to be alive.
Now I'll count up to twelve,
and you keep quiet and I will go.

A personal note.

Looking back at the year that went by, a year of complete bliss where I didn’t have time for anything except for myself.
I would go to Kolkata Film Festival all alone, sit in a cinema hall filled with people who were crazy for “world cinema” and I got to see movies from Greece, Germany, Denmark and of course classic Indian Films of Bimal Roy. I used to watch three movies in a day, then go back to school the another day come back from school and I would hurriedly rush off towards the metro station to reach Nandan. The days were busy, and more importantly those were days of self-exploration. In between the break time, I would go to Starmark and read books. I met people who were amazed to see a young guy like me watching movies of world cinema. It was an exhilarating experience. This wouldn’t end here.
After the film festival got over, I became the member of BIG FLIX, which gave me exposure to parallel cinema of 70’s and some classic movies of Hollywood ranging from Hitchcock to Scorsese. It was like a dream world, where I didn’t have time for anything but to discover myself.
But then the twist came and I had to compensate for good times. This year was really tough, ranging from emotional trauma due to family problems and then the excessive burden of studies. Now, I have to follow the regular norms of life – of waking up at 6, getting ready for school, coming home, taking my nap and waking up to get ready for tuition. In between my journey I relax myself by listening to music and surfing net on my mobile. Time has taught me to be tough and face the life. It’s not easy, but then sometimes discipline has to be inculcated in life for better future. I am giving satisfaction to myself by saying “only for 6 months” though every day is like 6000 minutes. The unbearable part is my own personal computer got ruined up and I am waiting for October to come fast, where 50% of my luxuries will be back. :D. My new pc with internet connection: D.
Sometimes we just cant follow whatever we want to, because to lead a better life you have to screw yourself. With patience and perseverance everything can be achieved. I am happy after writing this, I attain such peace of mind. True, nothing is better than the life of a creative person.

Common-Wealth-Health-Games?

Common-Wealth Games are "in news", and it makes you absolutely ludicrous to watch the condition of the country. Aah, let's go to the flashback. 2004 - Where bollywood stars came for 5 minutes, danced around, in full enthusiasm calling everyone to "Delhi" for the next common-wealth games.

Cut to at present, where you hardly get to see any enthusiasm from anyone. Sports personalities are failing to clear the drug dope case and yes the system of the country is at its best satire. I hope Anusha Rizvi is reading this. Her next film can expose the hypocrisy of the "wealth-common-games"

It’s amusing to see Sheila Dixit keeping mum about everything. Media is after the government from day 1 for its irregularities in meeting up the exact date to finish off the work. As reports are to be believed still some of the works are pending. Delhities must be suffering a lot.

The other harsh reality of this sad situation is that the army of the country is "supposed to be serving for free" and the Oscar winning music composer A.R. Rehman is being paid 5 crores for 5 minute song. (Ah, it hurts). The song is being criticized too. The very beginning of the event has created such commotion that no one will get peace until the event is finally over.

Let’s not talk about corruption charges again and again. Accept the fact, that it’s a "major" part of the system. Organizers are filling their pockets, while the army is made to serve for free.

I was wondering that does this problem exist in every nation before hosting a major event? Or is it india who is having a serious heart disease after trying its level best to suck out everything possible in way of making money through this "game". Certainly it’s a common-wealth-game, which ensures corruption, injustices, lies and umm games? Swanand Kirkire should be thanked for writing the lyrics of "Desh Mera Angrezi Babu". Till then, just wait and watch.More to come. Afterall, "Atiti Devo Bhav" is what india believes in.Hahah!

The 51st post.

Ah! This being the 51st post of mine makes me absolutely clueless about everything. Its like a new beginning, new venture and lots of hope. I remember initially when i started to write something over here, i was really bad. Bad with language and grammar but not with ideas I suppose. This place has had a great impact on me.
While many people think that blogging is a waste of time, but i have to disagree with them to a big extent. In this real world, people are too busy in their own world and hardly have any time to give their views or opinions on any other thing.
And talking about myself, i had an enormous change in my being and thinking process because of this place. Writing about other people and their lives, makes you selfless and contented. Its like an urge that disturbs your mind and until you write about it you are not free from it. Whatever i have written till now be it humour, stories, juvenile poems, reviews, articles all of them have been the outcome of an urge that has driven me to give time to the blogging world.
In the beginning I was an active blogger, 1 post in 2-3 days and then I became lazy or didn't have anything to write about but the best part is I have managed to make this blog alive from the last 3 years. Just like in a relationship, initially you are very happy you spend 24*7 into each others business and then time plays it role, but if your relationship is true nothing can avoid it and my relationship with my blog is just the same.
I dont read many blogs because i have less exposure to them but i love to read Shobha De's blog - her humour, her blunt nature is amazing and more importantly interesting to read.
There are many people who are an active blogger, its a selfless hobby where you have so much to say in a space and if you are lucky, people have time to give a reading to what your mind has delivered.
Nowadays facebook and twitter are nothing but "mini blogging" where you share your ideas with people, get responses. Now there are many sources of killing man's isolation and interacting with people who share like minded interests. Indeed, I have been fortunate to have a blog and if you are reading this then please share some interesting blogs with me specially of youngsters. :D. (would love to read blogs of people of my age)

The 'Reality' Of Reality Shows?

Reality shows in India have undoubtedly produced many Paris Hiltons and Taylor Hicks. Some so called reality shows which promises to 'hunt out fresh talents' are mocking at the sensibility of audiences by adding their money making schemes to it. The list of growing reality shows in India are eternal and endless - He got talent, she got moves, The couple can dance, the kid can cry well. Its an over-dramatized version of the saas bahu saga which get into your nerves every time you watch it.
Yesterday when the news came that "Dimpy Ganguly walked out of Rahul Mahanjan's home" I didn't react at all. But then I wanted to laugh at their onscreen misery by watching headlines on hindi news channels saying "do dilo ka milan" "shaddi ka attut bandan tut gaya" and the english ones claim that "Mahajan is a wife beater".

It shows how reality and media have both forgotten their "creativity" in the midst of searching for other fresh talent. Of course everything is about business and politics. you cant eradicate it from human race but with such things also come "Social Responsibility". While some people who participate in such shows thinking that they have got the talent, are shown their way to home because they cant contribute much votes which the show needs, so they are forced to do "emotional drama" and "other unwanted" things to win over the sensibility of our audiences. There are shows where the participants are more talented than the judges and they have to bear public humiliation which can have a deep psychological impact on a person and its family. Kids on the other hand are introduced to "strong competition" and "jealousy" while their parents are busy fetching lump-sum money from the producers.

Media and Reality-shows cannot be blame at all. Indeed, entertainment sells and we gain pleasure from seeing abuses, fights, emotional drama. Audiences love the very idea of "voyeurism" and it sells throughout the world but then again if it continues to be like that than instead of producing true people we will have more Rakhi Sawants and Mahanjan to clown around in India Media and at the end of the day filling their pocket with money by trading their self respect.
Even Mtv has produced twits like "Raghu" who the younger ones admire because they think by asking a guy his bedroom secrets and a girl her past boyfriends, he is being blunt and straight-forward, but he is actually being a businessman by entertaining the audiences while advocating "voyeurism".
Now the Indians have dared to step in shows like Sach ka Samna, where you will paid to speak the truth. Ah! the world has come to stage where money matters the most, the on-screen reality as we all know is the remix of fiction+reality where there are millions waiting to advertise their nautanki, by participating in "talented show".what an oxymoron!

Movies this week.

Although i have left this place to rest in peace for a while, but i cant seem to get nostalgic about the days when i was hooked to writing on my blog and there were many people appreciating as well as criticizing the posts i wrote.

Last week was hectic, but i always manage to entertain myself and what better way to keep yourself occupied than to watch a movie! My second best place after home would be cinema hall. I love the aura of it. Darkness all over, people concentrating and willing to bid their precious time to see the characters and story that are fictional.

Anyway the day before my English exam, I saw Udaan - a touching portrayal of a boy who struggles to fight for his own dream in the film. A movie which i could possibly say the most underrated and beautifully made by Vikramaditya Motwani. No one was willing to produce it, but thanks to audacious Anurag Kashyap who believed in the story of the film and now its soaring the skies. The film received wonderful responses both from the critics as well as the audiences (which is a very rare case, mind you). The film also received a standing ovation in the Cannes film festival.

My Sunday morning was dedicated to another 'hyped' and talked about Christopher Nolan's "Inception". The movie is brilliantly executed, the concept could have been totally whitewashed or ignored by the audiences but thanks to the director and the lead actor Leonardo Di Caprio who carried this surreal film of Dream Vs Reality so well that you cannot dare to move your eyes from the big screen (until and unless you dont get the film). The film is like a dream and you wouldn't want to wake up from it. The funny part is, I saw this movie the day before my accounts exam. :D

I deserve to fail in exam, but who cares? As long as life is treating you with the magic on Big Screen. Au revior! More posts by August.

To Kill a Mocking Bird - Book Review.

“Shoot all the blue jays you want, if you can hit them, but remember it’s a sin to kill a mocking bird” – this excerpt from the Harper Lee’s novel reflects how deeply she has flown into the oceans of writing in her book “To kill a mocking Bird”.

The book is a first tale narrative where through the eyes of the protagonist Scout Finch, a girl born and lived in her home, Maycomb comes across the discrimination of caste and inequality and other stereotypes which exists in the tongue and actions of people from her homeland Maycomb. The author gives eerie details of every single character making imagining things the easiest task for the reader. Other interesting characters of the novel include his heroic father Atticus whose firm and understanding nature can be an example for every father in the world, his brother Jem who matures as he struggles to learn the hardships of life.

Despite being a novel of such serious subject, the author looks at these issues from the viewpoint of a child, whose innocence makes you want to admire the protagonist and also how her innocence is tarnished as the book unfolds. One can get nostalgic about his childhood days while reading this book. Each scene is so vividly described; every word is placed in the right shelf of sentences.

The book makes you want to think over the prejudice that still exists in our society and how as adults people involve children in their cobwebs of narrow-minded nature.
The book marvels you with its adventure, wits , humour and also makes you think about human mindset. The book is unquestionably engrossing making it a mere classic of modern American literature.

KITES - REVIEW.

Directed by Anurag Basu, Kites is one charismatic film. Hritik Roshan plays a guy who wants to be rich in the world of Casinos, Last Vegas. Therefore, to accomplish his dreams he attracts Gina (Kangana Ranuat) who happens to be the daughter of the most powerful and richest person in Vegas. In the meanwhile he falls for the Mexican beauty Barbara Mori, the fiancée of Gina’s brother.
The story of the film is predictable and in certain parts reminds you of those movies made in the 90’s (where the guy and the girl run away and villains are after them). But what makes Kites special from all other movies based on same storyline, is the sizzling chemistry between Barbara Mori and Hrithik Roshan. Their passion and love for each other is beautifully written and directed, though in some parts there is an exaggeration of emotions, specially the ending scene.
The film is incoherent and foolish in some parts, not defining the logic behind it. But the fast pace screenplay keeps you engrossing and entertained. The action sequences are new and fresh. Hrithik Roshan has indeed worked hard for the movie and is close to perfection in each scene.
Actors like Kabir Bedi and Kangana Ranaut are wasted in the movie. The have nothing to deliver. The new actor Nicholos Brown who plays a negative role in the film does his job nicely. The music of the film is fresh and modern. The movie would have been brilliant had they worked more on the same monotonous story. The direction of Anurag Basu, in some parts reminds you of the sequences from his last film Life in a Metro, therefore the direction is good in some parts but nothing ‘new’ to offer.
Kites attempts to be a different movie and in some respect succeeds in being one. I recommend you watch the movie for its music and sizzling chemistry between Hrithik and Barbara.

Voyeurism And Us!

“A professor of AMU committed suicide after being filmed on a spy cam where he was indulging in a consensual sex with a man"
This news may serve the purpose of being entertained, but on the contrary it highlights the condition of the country . The disease is called “VOYEURISM”. Post the famous DPS scandal and many other sting operations being aired openly on television with some blurred scenes, the Indian media is to be blame seriously. Who does what in his bedroom is none of our business, while some string operations have served as a “poll khol” for our baiymaan politicans, the sex scandals have ruined an individual’s life and the government should take serious actions against such bizarre ways of gaining TRP’s.
I was moved by the dialogue chanda of dev D, delivers where she says “people had fun watching the video and the same hypocrites called her slut”.
Nowadays these crazy craver for exposing whats running inside people’s underwear are after the saint-virgin baba’s who we all know are big time sexually frustrated people.
If you go on exposing people’s bedroom secrets like this then you will be ashamed of your own self as we all know how crazy our desires are!
Inspired by all this, filmmaker Ram Gopal Verma is now thinking of making a film on sex scandal of one baba. The movie will be a hit as we people love “the mirch and masala” about one’s sexual life.
Voyeurism has seriously hit Indian television. Reality shows like big boss, emotional attaychar gain big TRPS. The television producers are not ashamed of it as they claim “they get nice responses in terms of high TRP’s” True. Its we people who stick on to these shows and then bitch about the condition of today’s generation but we fail to ignore the impact it creates on one’s family who has no other option left after such incident but to pull the trigger and die.
While Voyeurism fever is all around the world, India is taking this at different level. New cases being the SANIA-SHOAIB-AYESHA’s stupid threesome drama and a suicide case of a professor of Amu University.
Wonder what is left now! I was once watching some gadget show on ndtv where they said that in future there will be time when people will expose their life 24x7 on the internet and in return will get huge bucks. Sounds crazy but this is a ‘Sad, but true’ incident which is going to be the next way of “social networking”.
In such circumstances, the lyrics of the song ‘love sex aur dhoka, darling’ makes true sense for us, the people living in India.

Humara Bharat Mahan!

Gautam Iyer one of my online friend always asks “how is your blog going” whenever I don’t post anything new and then I feel like posting something over here because he actually made my blog sound like its an alive human being.
I have several questions in my mind regarding the security of our nation. Even after the classic attack on 26/11 we haven’t realized anything. Every bloody person says “I am proud to be an Indian” and every school student is made to learn the national anthem of the nation but if it continuous like this do you think so our nationality will sustain for long? Well our politicians have nothing else to do but play their favourite game of “blame game”. People like Raj Thackeray and others are polluting the entire nation by showing us the difference of caste. India’s secularism is under deep threat and in the mean while people from outside the country will take advantage of its growing disunity among its people and we will have to see our people die everyday. We have become “emotionless” now hearing people dying in terrorist attack or even the plane crash is something boring. The question which comes now is “Tell us something new”. I respect our home minister Mr P.Chidambaram but when he said “attack on Pune is not intelligence failure” made me laugh and pity at us and our poor condition. We pay huge taxes to make sure our nation is protected but what have we got in return in the past few years? Terrorist Attacks, Communal Violence, Unnecessary Strikes? I wonder what is it that America has and our nation does not? What is it that a person will think million times before doing any harm to America? If you know the answer please reply but look at our so called CBI and Intelligence Agency of our country. You will see huge and strict security forces on special occasion like 26 Jan, New Year Eve etc but on other days it will continue to be without any strict security forces. Even my common sense says that a clever enemy will never come and attack you when you are fully prepared, he will come and give you a surprise when you are asleep. And our country is asleep most of the days and when it is awaken it is dealing with its own problem of solving rape case, murder case, blaming on Pakistan for attacking India but not doing anything to tighten its security forces. Perhaps we should go and learn from our friendly nation America to give us some tips on how to tighten our security or the best option would be to hand over our nation to the terrorists so that they wont kill anyone innocently but will in return take away our nationality. Its better to follow the latter option because then our hopes will not deceive us, our hope in our governance to keep us safe and secure will die and we will stop living such lie of being protected from terror.

Lifeless Lives... (read the story with patience)

She was desperately waiting for someone to knock on her door. Though she was reading the Quran, she was waiting for her husband Muddasir to come home. Nausheed’s husband Muddasir worked as a waiter in one of the famous hotels in the city, where only elite and high profiled people visited. She couldn’t remember the name of the hotel as she was very bad at remembering English names. Muddasir had promised that he would return home early and then they would go to the nearby cinema hall to catch a movie.

Chirag had turned eight and his father took time from his busy schedule to celebrate his birthday at their favourite restaurant. Unfortunately, his mother couldn’t accompany them to her son’s birthday party as she was not well and she didn’t want her son to spoil his enthusiasm so she requested her husband Ashok to take him to his favourite restaurant where he loved eating Chinese food.
Rajeev came to India after 3 years. He was studying in New Zealand, but had returned to India so that he could be a part of his parent’s 25th anniversary. He was staying at one of the best hostels in the city hoping that he would visit his parent’s house the next morning.

All these inter connected lives were woven together by destiny to stay under the same roof, oblivious of the catastrophe that was going to take place. Rajeev was enjoying his solitude to the fullest; he was engrossed in reading a book by Sheldon. Chirag missed his mother but that didn’t stop him from having fun on his birthday. His father was like a friend to him and they were discussing about Chirag’s ambition of becoming a pilot. Muddasir came and served the food for the birthday boy. After serving him, he would be on his way to home. After finishing the dinner, Chirag’s father ordered Muddasir to bring a birthday cake from his son. Rajeev forgot that the world around him existed; he was completely drowned in the literary world. Ashok was noticing Chirag, looking at his face, expressing so many emotions together. The laughter, the excitement, the tiredness. All these expressions could be read by his father like an open book.

Nausheed was reading the Quran, hallucinating that someone was knocking on the door. While reading, she looked towards the main door but after one knock she couldn’t hear further. She was waiting anxiously for Muddasir as of he had gone to war.
Chirag’s mother was getting bored and she started entertaining herself by watching a comedy show on TV.

His father sang loudly “Happy Birthday to you…Happy birthday dear Chirag”. When Chirag was about to cut the cake he noticed the people around him giving a warm smile, as if the whole world knew that Chirag had turned eight. Muddasir was also standing nearby watching him cut the cake. The cake was cut, and then suddenly they heard the noise of a big explosion outside. For a minute Chirag thought maybe someone was bursting crackers for his birthday, but as soon as they all could give a thought to what really happened the monsters appeared in the restaurant.

Rajeev was stunned by the noise of the explosion, he went towards his window but saw nothing. He turned on the TV and saw the headline Terrorist attack on Taj Mahal Hotel, Mumbai. For a minute he didn’t know how to react, slowly his heart started pounding, beating so furiously that he couldn’t control it. He sat down on the bed like a lifeless figure, like his soul was already taken and there was nothing left. But Rajeev was brave, and more than being brave he feared how his parents would react to this news, but thank god they didn’t know he was staying in Taj Mahal Hotel, Mumbai.

Nausheed heared the continuous knock on the door of her house, this time it wasn’t hallucination but someone outside the door waiting for her. She adjusted her hair and went to open the door like a little girl waiting for Santa Claus, but it was no Santa Claus, it was her neighbourhood friend Mumtaz, looking dead scared, in front of her. From the look of Mumtaz, Nausheed figured out something terrible had happened. Mumtaz didn’t say anything, grabbed Nausheed’s hand and took her to her house. She heard the Hindi news channel saying the terrorist had entered the hotel and they were killing whoever was coming in front of them. Nausheed soon learnt from Mumtaz that Muddasir worked in Taj Mahal Hotel and then after hearing the news, she was searching for support. She threw herself against the wall as if there was nothing more left for her now; she was like a lifeless statue.

Chirag’s mother was turning to other channels bored of watching the same programmes when she came across a big headline on a news channel “TERRORIST ATTACK, HOTEL TAJ MAHAL, MUMBAI”. She was stunned and expressionless; she wore a shawl and went outside. She saw her mother-in-law sleeping peacefully. She went to her room, locked the door and called her sister. Her voice was weak, she was broken and above all she forgot she had a fever.
Muddasir, Ashok and Chirag were at the far end of the restaurant and the terrorists were bit far from them busy firing old women, children and men like a child shoots the balloon in the shooting game. Muddasir told Ashok and Chirag to quickly hide under the table. He then went ahead to save one pregnant lady who was sitting like someone has removed the earth from under her feet, Muddasir went there to protect her to say that her life was in danger and she could be saved but it was too late for that lady to react to the incident. The monsters shot Muddasir and the lady, and hence put a full stop to their life. Chirag and his father watched Muddasir’s body being filled with bullets, and the terrorists were now moving towards the father and son to crush them like ants.
Rajeev switched off his cell phone and was hiding like a deer from a tiger not willing to give up his life in this way. He was sweating like never before.

After 62 hours of the unexpected catastrophe that left an indelible scar on the minds of the people in India, it was found that Chirag and his father were saved. Rajeev was killed and he died thinking how his parents will react to the worst anniversary gift. Nausheed stood there outside the hotel waiting for the policeman to declare his husband was alive or not. After seeing his husband and son alive, Chirag’s mother broke down into the arms of her husband. Chirag was now born as an eight year old man after having a close encounter with death. The hero was dead, but Ashok could never forget that a waiter saved his life but for Nausheed her life was already taken, she was frozen like an expressionless doll. She forgot her life after 26 November 2008. Rajeev’s parents kept trying on his number but the phone was switched off. They were informed later that their son had died an unexpected death. They were planning to get Rajeev married, but now the plan was changed. They were preparing for his funeral.
This is just a fictional story based on the terrorist attack of 26/11.I hope the reader will be able to empathize with the people who suffered and lost lived on 26/11.For them, every single day is 26/11.

3 Idiots - Review.

Since People couldn’t keep their mouth shut by praising about the movie “Three Idiots” therefore curiously I went to watch the movie. The hall was empty because I went to watch it after 1 month the movie got released. But my bad luck is that I always sit beside people who act so excitingly and laugh-out-loud at such lame jokes that I am forced to believe that they have never been to cinema hall but then again I shouldn’t be so harsh with my words because theatre hall creates an environment which makes you want to forget everything and live the movie. The movie started of well with Sharman Joshi, R Madhavan and The chatur guy (whose real name I don’t know) searching for Amir Khan. Then the story takes a flashback and shows the college life of the three idiots in the movie. Amir Khan was again acting like pop philosopher in the movie. His character was too white to digest. Screenplay, Direction and Cinematography is what makes the movie so good. Shimla, Manali and other hilly places were looking just wonderful in the movie. Also not to forget the acting of Boman Irani and Chatur guy made people laugh. The weak point of the movie is hard to find but I guess sometimes it’s too illogical. The scene where Amir calls Boman Irani “murderer” and the delivery of the baby with the help of a vacuum cleaner is too much of cliché. The film if you will notice carefully is a mixture of Taare Zameen Par and Munna Bhai M.b.b.s. We see the same Amir from Tzp lecturing about his ideas of education and then we see the prankster Sanjay Dutt from Munna Bhai doing whatever he wishes to in an institution where people with brilliant marks and brains study. On the whole, it’s an enjoyable movie but certainly not that great. Kareena Kapoor doesn’t have much to offer in the movie except her geeky look. A family entertainer and a clever movie giving social message as well as sticking to the same commercial genre of Bollywood Film. I am not telling you to watch this movie because you all must have seen it by now. I am also not saying is “All is Well” because I feel like a moron when I say it.
The promo of Love, Sex aur Dhoka looks really good.Looking forward to watch Ishqiya nexttttt!!

Wake Up and Watch the movie!!

Wake Sid is certainly the most beautiful film of the year. The film as you know is about a boy refusing to wake up until he meets a girl who changes his life. The concept of “opposite attracts” is so beautifully shown in the movie that yes you can now puke on to the posters of movies like kambaqt ishq and all (though I haven’t seen the movie). Konkana Sen Sharma can adapt herself to any character. You can’t challenge that acteress. She has made a position for herself in the industry. Ranbir Kapoor was almost perfect in the movie, there isn’t a minute you feel that he is playing a character instead you think Ranbir is like Siddhart (the main character in the movie) in real life too. And yes I like Supriya Patak and it was really good to see her playing Ranbir’s Mom in the movie. Okay, now the best part of the movie is the director of the movie Ayan Mukherjee. The debutant director has captured all the small things of life that makes it beautiful. I mean the waves, the rain, the smile and used various other things to make the movie more youthful and larger than life. The best part is the art direction, cinematography, acting music and Ayan’s direction. The director himself is so good looking that he could have also played Sid. The songs of the movie are simply amazing. O re Manwa is the best melodious song of the year for me. And it has one romantic English song which is great too.Ok I suppose I am all praising for the movie because the movie is very fresh and “stylish” as you can term it in its own ways. It’s better than Jane tu ya Jane Na because the plot of this movie makes sense. So don’t forget tom watch this movie.

The promo of the new movie Qurbaan looks good. The movie has an interesting plot but I have seen a movie like qurbaan and surprisingly that too on national geographic channel. The movie is about a man falling in love with a girl and the girl doesn’t know the man is out there to destroy twin towers of America. It was a film showing how they plotted against 9/11. I bet the film will be similar to that movie but kareena is looking stunning in black and the music of the movie is good. The sex scenes as shown from the promo are shot esthetically. I hope there would be some movie in Indian cinema where the directors would try to push the envelope and shoot sex scenes with sensuality because there is not a single movie in Indian Cinema where sex is portrayed in an esthetic manner because they fear the censor board would give them A certificate which would not allow the under 18 people to watch the movie.

Randomm.

One of the most sophisticated and interesting award function which I have seen in India, not in reality but on television was GQ MEN of the year award show. It was an award show filled with people from every sphere, be it sports, fashion, art, politics and of course bollywood. And what was amusingly surprising was that the award show was filled with humor and the people present maintained their dignity by not pulling each other’s leg or by giving boring speeches like “thank god, thanks my dog” etc but there were all in a mood to have a good fun. And the people getting the award were all deserving candidates. This is one of the least award function were you get to see the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mr. Omar Abdullah making the audiences laugh through his humorous speech and of course the chandler bing of politics Mr. Shashi Tharoor also managed to win the heart by delivering a nice speech. Not to forget the ndtv journalist Srinivasan Jain was also given the award for his excellence in the field of journalism. I remember that guy was present 24x7 in front of the television box giving us the latest updates from 26/11 attack that took place last year in Mumbai. The poor guy didn’t even get the chance to change his shirt for two-three days. Now that’s what I call real Journalism! The bachaans were seated behind Omar Abdullah, saif bebo didn’t leave this stage also to flaunt their love life (as their new film qurbaan is on the verge of being released) Abhay Deol, (my fav actor) got the first award of his life and he was thrilled to receive it. It was a wonderful event filled with humour and sophistication, you can see the award show on you tube or can wait for it to be aired on STAR WORLD.

I manage to see almost all the interviews possible of all the people. I love watching interviews. It really shows if a person is politically correct, blunt or not and yea dumb or not. If you will notice the interviews you will see most of the celebrities will have the same answer to every question. ASK a female celebrity whom see had a crush on? She will say Sharukh Khan; you know why Sharukh because every actress wants to work with him so as to grab the position of No 1 queen of bollywood which is all media speculated stuffs. Ask a male celeb, whom he had a crush on? He will say madhuri dixit. Now; I don’t know why madhuri but answers are all same. Ask celebs about nudity? The females will say no-no because they are image struck actress and you can’t expect them to be like nandita das or seema biswas who are ready to showcase their soul in celluloid. The male celebs are now flaunting it, but more then showing it they are just talking about it. The clever madhur bhandarkar publicized about Neil Nitin getting nude for his film and then he pixilated the nude scene in order to grab both the audiences of both under 18 and above. The film industry is also like politics. You will get a prepared answer for all questions, and the worst of all answers is when asked about playing a homosexual role. They all will say I don’t want it to be a gay-bashing film I want it to be more like Brokeback Mountain because they all know no one is going to come up with such bold script to them because Indian Actors are less about performance and more about how good or bad their Image is in the public. That’s why you see such disastrous film coming up with no experimental cinema. But times are changing. Its time that yash raj also realist that every movie has to have a good script in order to run in box office. We had enough of Punjab and NRI people. Now people like bhardawaj, kashyap and akhtar’s are going to rule the Indian cinema. Till then let’s hum the songs of wake up Sid!! Haha.

Our so called "good education system".

I know I am late to comment on the “scraping of board exam for class 10” from 2011.But then personal views on any topic are welcomed at any time. We still have something to say on Jinnah and Gandhi and Hitler and many others even though they are resting in peace. So let’s talk about the judgment made by the HRD minister of India MR.Kapil Sibbal on the need to reform the education system of India. Class 10 board exam of CBSE board will have grading system from 2010 and then the board exam will become optional from 2011. Hmm, well this decision has different notions on people’s mind. Those who have scored above 90 in boards even though before the board exam they were a mediocre students, they must have had a terrible heart attack after listening to this verdict. I was watching CNN-IBN and some so called “intelligent and hardworking students” were obviously disappointed with the fact that they cannot show their competitiveness in class 10.I mean why do we need to judge the student’s academic performance so early at the age of 15. This age of studying, playing, discovering your roots apart from academics not to sit with big fat book of R.D. Sharma for hours. Not to be a part of traumatizing experience at the age of 14 or 15. I believe studying should never be considered a burden for anyone. Especially when you hear so many students committing suicide after not getting the desired marks it really hurts (reminds me of the ad of airtel featuring saif and kareena, it hurts one). I think those who are willing to participate in this board exam should be given the freedom to do so and those are not should better concentrate on the exam taken in the school that are far more satisfying and non-bias then those stupid teachers who correct 100 to 200 papers a day depending on their mood whether they are going to give you marks or not. But then I am also disappointed that nothing is being done for the students of class 12 who feel far more traumatized and depressed because everyone wants to be in a good college and the cut off percentage in those colleges are very high and there are lack of good colleges in India. Why should “board” exam be given the only priority to judge the student’s academic performance and the worst of all is a student doesn’t really know how is his being checked and rely more on “who will be checking his paper” rather than being confident of his own performance. I, myself being a student hear such things like “I was expecting 71 in maths and got 91” so is this a correct platform to judge how academically brilliant a student is? Especially when this board phobia has caused so many suicidal feelings on students mind and colleges are relying only on this system to judge the student’s performance. The whole education system surely needs to be reformed and I think it is being given the attention by Mr Sibbal.I will be a part of this pathetic system of board exam next year and when I hear the cut off percentage of studying economics in St.Stephens College is 97% I would rather think of killing myself than studying in that college, who will take you even if you have 60% provided you are a son of some minister. And it wouldn’t be wrong to say that all successful people are college dropouts because they are not willing to lead a robotic life by studying throughout till their hair becomes grey and they feel contended working under some multi national companies in other countries just to lead a common life. The very idea of innovation is not given a damn all that matters is either high marks or the power of money in Indian education and yes the system of reservation where dalits or scheduled casts have become the hero of the colleges because the seats are “reserved for them”. So our education system apart from academics comprises of what cast you belong to, who is your father a neta or a hero, and how much money can you spend to be a part of good college.

"My name is celebirity Khan"

Well I am upset with this srk and his hypocrisy .I know I got no right to judge these celebrities but what I also know is that people are blindfolded by what they hear or read in the news so much that they don’t apply their so called “common-sense”. Shahrukh is one of the richest and famous celebrities of India who says he is actually “famous than tom cruise” and we all saw how famous he is in the west when he was being detained in the airport for 2 hours. Many people including shahrukh khan and his close friends found it offensive that a person like him is being asked such questions relating to the security of the nation. But according to me when it comes to the security of the nation no one should be left out even if he or she is the president of the nation. When these celebrities can indulge in rape case, cocaine smuggling etc who knows what they are upto. And the actor is claiming that he was asked to go through all these procedures just because his surname was “Khan”. I would ask Mr shahrukh khan to recall that moment when Emran Hasmi was proclaiming that he was not given a flat in mumbai and how he commented on it by saying that “I never felt alienated as a muslim” now where has his peaceful and noble thought gone? Perhaps gone with the wind. If tomorrow I am being asked about my identity in other nation no one will care if I claim I was asked because I belonged to this religion but when it is a celebrity and he is asked to do that he would certainly be offended because his star status is not given value in that situation and because his ego is hurt and because those fully professional security guards are not asking for his autograph.
We should also not forget that because the security in America is so strict post 9/11 the country is in no mood to give any special reference to anyone which had a good result as well. A terrorist would think twice before devising a plan to attack America.

It’s not India were you are a neta or a celebrity so things will be easy on you. So those who think that their ego is hurt by such things should realize that nothing comes before the security of the nation and its people.

Ugly desires!

It feels great when you are back from hell. From those sleepless nights rolling here and there thinking about what will happen tomorrow and after continuous failures and rejection I got the big good news. I got the admission in a good school and when the news came out I just didn’t know how to react. It was because“good news” was something my ears were never accustomed of. But all’s well that ends well. I am now an expert when it comes to going off to various places for your admission and this is surely going to help me when I shall try for colleges. But everyone wants to be in a well known colleges and schools nowadays. What stupid life a teenager in India has and how ugly are his desires. Yes the ugly desires. As an average student you will just think of studying this and that and all that shit to pursue your ugly goals.
Now let me explain what these ugly desires are-
1. A student will put in his hard effort. Mug up the book. Lick every pages of it so as to score good marks.
2. If he succeeds then he will go into a good college.
3. Three years later he will be having a degree of this and that.
4. After that he will go to a foreign country to lead a better life.
5. The angrejis will make them work for hours and hours utilizing the Indian brain.

So these are the goals of every Indian nowadays. Flying off to good countries leaving their parents to rot in India and will make use of their nerdish life by serving for others.
None are concerned with politics or doing something different. It’s mandatory for every one to get a degree in his hand.
So don’t be a pappu and start thinking about reaching the place where no one has dreamt of. Try being Laxmi mittal and not an average middle class Indian.

Discussion.

I don’t know if anyone follows my blog but one friend of mine scrapped me on orkut and said “hey no updates on your blog” and felt like there is someone who cares. The reason why I wasn’t blogging was because I kept myself busy in writing a script for a 10 minute film. The story is of a sales-girl who discovers the other side of the people living in big complex and apartments and I learnt something about myself in my screenplay class that “I am actually a Lamb”. Dont think that I am self praising about myself but even if I am then what’s the harm in it. So it happened on the day when we six wannabe scriptwriters came up with different stories. I was overexcited about narrating my not one, but three stories and the other guy came up with a social drama. One guy reluctantly said he didn’t get time to think about any story and then I was trapped. I told my sir that I have three stories to tell and then the sir asked me if I can give one of my story to the “didn’t get time” guy and there I was left with a choice of YES or No and the over sensitive and moronic side of me chose “YES”. Yes because I didn’t want him to think that I am rude and above all yes because I cant say “NO” to people. So we were given the homework of writing the businesses of the characters in our stories and we met again next week. I narrated my story and the sir offered his ideas which could make my story very humourous. I liked his idea and then came the chance of the MR who casually accepted my story without being ashamed of the fact that it wasn’t his idea on which he was working. I was patiently listening to his scenes and discovered that the dumb guy actually copied the lines from my story and made it into screenplay. I was abusing him from inside for making my story, my idea look so crap. But I learnt a lesson from this class that in competition you have to be mean, you have to say no to people. It isn’t the world of lambs where you will be appreciated for helping someone it’s the world of lions where you will be patted behind your back for grabbing the meat earlier then the others.
